What can parents do to help?

If you’re son or daughter is considering an apprenticeship, then the best thing you can do is help them get a foot in the door. It’s a great idea to assist them in putting together a CV and encourage them to visit with local companies and express their interest in an apprenticeship.

Once your child’s secured an apprenticeship, it’s likely that they’ll have to get used to working a full work day and then doing study at nights. Wherever possible parents need to encourage their child to keep up with the theory work – as  once they get behind it can be difficult to catch up.
